Banaue Rice Terraces
have been called the eighth wonder of the world.
They were constructed some 2000 years ago by the Ifugaos
tribespeople using only the most
primitive tools. Carved out of the mountains sides they are as
perfect today as they were then. They run like stepping stones to
the sky, up to 1500 metres high, and if
stretched end to end would extend for over 20,000 km.
